Life had always seemed like it was pre-planned for 17-year old Mayumi; before she really began to realize the turmoil really going on around her, her future had been already set - working at the District Capitol Castle, for King Ethelric in their kingdom, their country, Anaphalia as a maid. She had begun to think there was nothing left for her to live for when one day, a strange man storms into the audience chamber and declares a rebellion against the king, setting things in motion Mayumi never anticipated. Now, thrown in the midst of the chaos, she tries to make sense of her newfound unfamiliar freedom and what is really right.
